For the 5th year in a row, the European citizen movement Freedom Not Fear/AK Vorrat has called for an International Day of Action, naming the dates September 14-17th, 2012 as the focus for demonstrations, lobbying and networking.
Responding to the call, we’ve decided to help bring the ongoing demonstration against the encroachment of disproportionate and unnecessary anti-civil liberties laws to Australia. We need your help!
We are looking forward to join forces with as many Australian NGOs, political parties and civil rights activists in order to build a strong alliance for the freedom of speech that is threatened by increasing surveillance.
In recent years, Freedom not Fear has been supported in Europe by a broad coalition of political parties, professional associations, trade unions and freedom activists. We invite all organisations and activists in Australia, in the spirit of co-operation, to help build a similar coalition.
Globally, the coalition of supporting organisations numbers well over 150, supporting the principles of the movement.
We want freedom of speech in a digital world. We demand a free and uncensored Internet to express ourselves.
We want privacy in the knowledge society, not surveillance.
We want to live in freedom, not in fear.
